Speaking to a CCO and first time interviewing as a team. Any tips, advice, or things we should prepare for?
Big hotel corp knows for good creative wants to interview me for a senior cw role. Salary tops at $98k and I was earning $135k before losing my job. I’ve been interviewing for many ACD/CD roles but nothing yet — something will come, but im thinking of taking this job and then quitting. Why would they even interview me if they know im overqualified? Thoughts?
How is everyone responding to questions like these on applications, "How are you currently using AI tools to make your day-to-day more efficient?" - What's the accepted bs reply, preferably for a copywriter capable of writing things themselves?
When did we start normalizing 10+ person “brainstorm” calls where 90% of the people on the call aren’t creatives, and could we please stop? Tbh, could we stop with 90% of the big group brainstorm calls altogether
At what point does it stop being about craft and start becoming a waste of time? When you're nitpicking details that nobody will notice except the creative team. How do you decide which battles are worth fighting?
What's better: - cold messaging a CD through LinkedIn - cold messaging a CD through email (if they have their email on their portfolio)
Make sure they like you and your dynamic. If they’re talking to you, they already like your work. Your personalities and shared ambition are the final piece of the puzzle.
I would do research on the agency and the work they're doing. I would also do research on the CCO and see what work they've done, so you can bring that up as work you admire (even if you don't) and the style of work you want to be doing. Be yourselves and show that you have chemistry and get excited about the role and what you can bring to it. Ask what they're looking for in a team and what would make you successful. Good luck!
If I’m talking to you it means you’ve probably already passed the technical stuff/experience/work check. What I’m looking for is the vibe check, chemistry, personality, personal drive, passion for the work, communication skills.
