Office Bullying
- Managenent leads by fear. Public shaming, name calling, and personal insults can often be obeserved in the office. Managers would make up bizzare subjective reasons for extending staff's probation period. Even after we passed probation, they would go as far as threatening to put us back in probation, demote us, or reduce our bonus, just to make us work more. Some of us, despite working more, still got punished just because we didnt meet their unrealistic expectations.
Unrealistic expectation on staff
- It's common to see the company hiring junior staff and pay them low salary to have them handle the work of a manager with no support. Training is often provided months after the staff joins because either no one is fit to train or the trainer is unavailable.
Horrible layoff and hiring practice
- Hiring agressively during social unrest and covid. Sent out announment to staff that the company is doing fine, only to suspend and lay off lots of staff a month after. In some regions, staff are forced to take unpaid leave for 4.5 months.
The day they announced the layoff, they deactived those staff emails to cut communications. Because of this, they couldn't handover their tasks to fellow teammates. Those stayed with the company greatly suffered because they couldn't contact their teammates and lack suffucient information to perform the tasks done by previous colleagues.
- Klook has a strong favor towards consultants but they didnt hire the best ones. Many of them have only 1-2 years of experience in consulting with no knowledge of the travel industry, yet serves a managerial role in the company. They have no clue what they are doing and are just faking it until they make it. When the underqualified has so much control over the company, it causes lots of chaos in our day-to-day work.
Lack work-life balance
Most staff work 10-12 hours a day and sometimes weekends too. Expect Managers to send you meeting invite for monday morning at midnight. Lots of meetings are just for discuss ideas and hardly ever come up with solid plan of execution.
