While the training provided was good, the company lacked sufficient opportunities for professional growth. Team structures were either too large, leading to insufficient work for everyone, or too small, resulting in excessive workloads. The annual review focused on irrelevant issues to explain the lack of promotion or a salary increase, such as language proficiency (as a non-British individual) and public speaking skills, which were not pertinent to my role.
Work-life balance was challenging, with staying late being praised, and a subtle expectation to work beyond the standard hours. Bi-weekly maintenance work scheduled after hours was uncompensated. The company proved unreliable, as they changed the remote working policy after hiring, and there were unexpected layoffs without ample warning. Unfortunately, my trust in the company eroded, despite the presence of talented individuals still contributing to the organization.
