Pros

Company culture is unique and very embedded throughout its people and product. Employees are encouraged to goal -set and strive for a 10-year vision of what their life could be. Building out showrooms in Asia required a lot of Community work, which meant building close relationships with fitness and yoga studio owners and clients. Definite perk if you enjoy fitness with two complimentary classes a week on the company.

Cons

In Asia, teams are small and often overworked. Expectations are grandiose and seem attainable, but instructions on how to carry through are unclear. The original company culture is sometimes forgotten and shunned in favour of creating more sales in retail instead.

Pros

Every employee has a dynamic hybrid role which allows for room to experiment, fail and grow. The pay is competitive in the retail environment, although low compared to most other industries. Perks are good in Hong Kong (I've heard in the States the company doesn't sponsor retirement funds) with clothing discounts, two free workouts per week, medical insurance, MPF retirement fund, plus daily and monthly bonuses if financial goals are met.

Cons

The brand culture is very prevalent, most of the managers in Asia interpret these core values too literally and often use them to strongarm people into doing things or acting in certain ways. There's heavy emphasis on keeping energy levels neck-high to deliver "great guest experience" but often at the cost of our own educator experience. Floor shifts can be fun with a competitive spirit but usually depends on who the floor lead is that day. As with most retail jobs, the learning curve is not good, I found myself bored after 6 months with limited opportunities to advance into non-store roles. My immediate manager had great ideas, but suffered from grave disorganization and lack of relevant experience in marketing, making my development journey one that was very ambiguous.

Pros

Great brand, excellent products, great people and excellent training. Really depends on the type of manager you get and if he / she is managing for their own career or for the development of the people below them.

Cons

Change in mgmt coupled with a lack of understanding in the Asian Market with impede the brand's international growth. High turnover with a lack of understanding of the competitive landscape and lack of willingness to localize.
