Pros

I have worked at 5 companies, and DFI Retail Group is the greatest company that truly cares about its employees. The salary is very satisfying, and the bonus system is fair and transparent. Management is open and clear in sharing information, which makes employees feel valued and trusted. The company puts a lot of effort into employee happiness, with many activities designed to keep people engaged and motivated. The work culture is very positive, and the overall environment feels supportive and comfortable. On top of that, coworkers are friendly, helpful, and easy to work with. Overall, DFI Retail Group is a highly recommended place to work if you’re looking for a healthy work environment, good compensation, and a company that genuinely cares about its people.

Cons

career progression may take longer for some positions due to the company’s size and structure.

Pros

Because the business doesn't respect the product and design team you basically don't need to work because they veto everything you do anyways. So if you are looking for a cushy job where you can get paid to sit around then this one is for you.

Cons

(yuu specific) The company culture at yuu is super old school. They claim to always put the customer and user first but in fact everything is run by one or two departments - the reason for this is because the previous director was promoted from one of these teams and has spoiled them into thinking that they run the show. Everything you try to do despite having user research and data has to be run past them and needs their approval, even when it has nothing to do with their department. Every meeting you have is like going to the wet market because the head of the department, who thinks they own the place, literally just raises her voice and talks over everyone - the first time I had a meeting with this person my jaw was on the floor as I've never been in such an unprofessional business setting in my life. As a designer, you are not valued here. All the work you do will receive insane pushback, will be questioned and then when you finally manage to get things approved, the people who run the show who have nothing to do with product or design and shouldn't have so much power over product enhancements will "forget" they've approved. They are so scared of change and also love the power that they have, they lord it over everyone unreasonably such that every change we have done they can change their mind whenver they want and often times we immediately are forced to rollback what we have shipped. The overall business itself is super disorganised as well. In my year here I have gone through 3 and a half managers (half was an interim one), one huge company restructure and 3 director/ceo changes. Every quarter your KPI/OKR changes because everytime someone new comes in they rollback the app to what it used to look like a year and a half ago to start from scratch. There is no culture or team comraderie here. On pay, the salary is okay, but you can forget about promotions or salary increases. They really just want a pair of hands to execute what they want, which is often bad UX and even worse UI. TLDR; Don't even waste your energy considering this place as a designer.
